All against all

Thanks for the gif Valentin (http://gifmovie.tumblr.com)
Right wing party supporters, against left wing party supporters and vice versa and both against the “middle” wing government parties  - not their supporters though, who dears to declare such thing nowadays? – who, in turn, back up the Troika (IMF, EU, ECB), only to bark against it when their officials are not around.

What a mess! In an even bigger mess, the society: “humanitarians” and pro-human rights activists against fascistic ideological monsters proclaiming “no human being is illegal”. While those immigrants, the non illegal persons, who yet illegally entered a country’s borders, out of tragic despair turn entire neighborhoods into ghettos and terrorize a whole city center – down town Athens.

And, as if those examples weren’t enough, the dominant expression of the crisis, schizophrenia, is even manifested among “regular” every day work matters: private sector against public sector. Why does someone working his ass off in the private sector has to suffer lay offs , threats of lay offs, or, if lucky, be a part of the employer’s conspiracy to rob off the government social security income (by declaring he pays you less money than he really does), just so “some posts are salvaged” ? Meanwhile, public sector employees summon up in guilds and go on strike whenever their salary is not “excluded” from the public sector wage cuts (e.g. judges, tax officers, public electricity network workers and so on).

Turn to your friend, one of the above qualities definitely match, it’s a matter of possibilities.
We‘ve been lured into this abyss of division, because it excites us : I’m not to blame, it’s the Others! At the same time, the real threat is in our own minds and hearts: the compromise of our human integrity and of our common sense of belonging to one national – geographical – cultural – historical identity.

Next time I’m told to join a debate “do you agree with layoffs in public sector, just as in private sector?” I’m going to tell my self that I don’t want another 100 thousand unemployed in Europe, I want more jobs. When I read an article about the monstrous practices Golden Dawn, I’m not going to criticize them filled with agonizing pain for my fellow human beings, the non- Greeks, because my generation gave this power to authoritarian party. Instead, I ‘m going to wonder what kind of deficiency has disabled the Legal Authorities from doing their job.

We truly inhabit a social system where words are used to divide.
